Playa del Carmen is a wonderful place to spend your vacation: lots of activities, gorgeous beaches, the picture-perfect Caribbean Sea and sunny weather almost all year long.
But for some of us, our vacation just isn’t complete if we can’t share its highlights on Instagram. Therefore Playa Palms presents Playa del Carmen’s most instagrammable spots. For you to explore and take some of the greatest snapshots your feed has seen.
7 Portal Maya
You can’t visit Playa del Carmen without taking a photo of the iconic Portal Maya statue. The bronze sculpture celebrating the Mayan calendar beautifully frames the turquoise waters of the Caribbean. Let everybody know where you are at, with the big, colorful letters saying Playa del Carmen just next to the statue. Furthermore, the park itself is very entertaining too, with vendors, Mayan dancers, and the famous Voladores de Papantla.
6 Sunrise over the Caribbean Sea
You have to get up quite early (or party until late) to get this one, but it’s absolutely worth it. Since every sunrise is unique, it guarantees a perfect picture. Another advantage is that you get to enjoy a quiet beach.
5 Sunset over Playa del Carmen
There is one place where you can even get a beautiful snapshot from the sunset over the ocean. Walk out the pier at Constituyentes Avenue, pull out your camera, and get ready for the colorful spectacle over Playa del Carmen!
4 Frida Kahlo Restaurant
Frida Kahlo was an exceptional woman. Now, long after her death, she has even conquered the social media. At the restaurant on the 5th Avenue that’s named after her, you can not only enjoy a delicious dinner or drinks, but you can also get a quite unique photo of her eye-catching portrait watching over the crowd.
3 3D Museum of Wonders
At many museums, it’s not allowed to take pictures. But at this one, the visitors are encouraged to interact with the art pieces. Especially since many of the 3D effects can be seen best on photos. Become part of the art at the 3D museum!
2 Las Coloradas
This place is actually a 3 hours drive from Playa del Carmen, but this list wouldn’t be complete without it. Or how often have you been at a lagoon with naturally pink water? It seems like Instagram was invented for this place. And if this photo doesn’t get a ton of likes, we don’t know what will.
1 Playa Palms Beach Hotel
What will make your Instagram followers more jealous than a snapshot of yourself at the Playa Palms Beach Hotel, relaxing in a hammock on your private balcony with an ocean view? Don’t forget to tag us in the photo! #photooftheday
