As only foot traffic is permitted on this promenade, you will find it very easy to navigate 5th Avenue, or “La Quinta,” as it is sometimes called, at your own pace. Visit the many shops along the way that offer everything from the latest fashions and souvenirs to Cuban cigars and rum. Below are a few of our favorites, offering a variety of goods that are far from common.
Del Mar
Corazón de México
Wayan
Mineralia
El Jardin de Marieta
Llena eres de gracia
There are also a wide range of Italian, American, and Mexican menus within easy walking distance. Your tastebuds will never grow tired of the varied options to be found on our 5th Avenue.
There are plenty of options for exploring the area’s nightlife. While Playa Del Carmen prides itself on its distinct, casual atmosphere that sets it apart from spring break destinations like Cancun, the town still has a lot to offer in terms of after-hours fun. Check out Deseo or Roof Top Bar & Restaurant for a cocktail while enjoying an aerial view of the ocean and activities below. Or stop by the Tequila Barrel to sample some of the local spirits while people-watching with your loved one.

Be sure to bring a few essentials with you on your outing, such as comfortable shoes that you can easily slip off and carry if you choose to transition from walking along 5th Avenue to the beach that runs parallel to it. It’s also best to bring pesos for your purchases as some vendors and restaurants do not accept credit cards.
Playa Palms is conveniently located just two blocks from 5th Avenue, so check out something new each night of your stay.
