It’s no secret that Playa del Carmen offers an exciting night life for visitors. For most, that scene is largely focused on “La Quinta,” or Fifth Avenue. However, a handful of streets have an extraordinary night club scene where guests enjoy Las Vegas-style shows, music, dancing, and an open bar.
Enjoy Live Entertainment at Coco Bongo
The entertainment at Coco Bongo gets started at 11:30 p.m., preceded by a round of “Welcome Drinks.” Don’t let the late start time scare you off if you’re typically the “early-to-bed” type. Time definitely flies when you’re having fun, and guests are repeatedly thrilled when they return at 3 a.m., or later, wondering where the time went.
The shows at Coco Bongo use contemporary club hits and traditional favorites to keep the crowd’s energy up. Talented performers intersperse a variety of acts throughout the night, including dancing, burlesque-style shows, comedy and more. In between the acts, guests can dance to their hearts’ content.
To get the most out of your experience at Coco Bongo:
- Purchase VIP tickets. We don’t typically advise splurging on VIP tickets but for this show, it’s a must. Coco Bongo gets pretty crowded, and the extra money you spend will be well worth it when you have your own reserved section and waiter service.
- Head for the top. Unless you like to be in the thick of things, head towards the upper-levels of the venue. You’ll have a fantastic view of the live entertainment, and the crowds tend to be thicker on the lower levels.
- Leave your camera in the hotel. Go Pros, camcorders, etc., must be left at the door because no photographs are allowed.
Make a reservation at Playa Palms Hotel, and enjoy an amazing night at Coco Bongo, just a few blocks away from the hotel.
